Macedonia Baptist Church invites Grimes County to a three-day revival featuring a minister raised and trained locally at Macedonia. The revival is Sept. 13-15 featuring Pastor Earnest Powell of Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church in La Vernia. Services begin at 7 p.m.

Read moreContinuing the Bookman family history in Grimes County and Trinity University we find that Jesse Bookman’s two children, Pickens Butler and Mattie J., both attended Trinity University at its original location of Tehaucana, Texas. The University was founded there in 1869 and relocated to Waxahachie in 1902, before making a final home at San Antonio.

Not sure why he came out of his shell, but he sure did. Had he worn a striped shirt I would have thought he was the referee.
