Tears flowed again this week as our town suddenly lost Randy Cleere of a heart attack at his home Wednesday, April 5. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Cathy, children Jason, Travis and Jennifer, as well as his grandchildren that he loved dearly.
Randy was a dear friend to the Sowell family. Don and Randy are life-long friends growing up together in Navasota and graduating a year apart in high school. After a 20-year tenure with TDCJ, Randy retired and went to work with Grimes County Sheriff’s Office as their Livestock Officer until his death. Anybody who knew Randy could testify he was a colorful figure. If you knew him, you had a story or two or three to tell, about your experiences with Randy. I know our family will miss him deeply as well as so many others. Services were held at Nobles Funeral Chapel Tuesday with the burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery near his home in Anderson.
