There were two new tombstones placed in area cemeteries last week. One was placed in Evergreen Cemetery for William Travis “Tex” Stewart. He was born June 29, 1985 and died Dec. 25, 2023. He was the son of Sewell and Linda Stewart.

The Grimes County Mobile Food Bank will be open Thursday, June 13 from 10–11:30 a.m. in the back–parking lot of the Grimes County Fairgrounds in Navasota. Any resident of Grimes County will be served and will only need to show their driver’s license when they complete the once–a–year Client Assistant Intake form. Iola High School held their graduation ceremony at the high school gym on May 24. There was a full house to watch the 37 graduates. Many of them received scholarships to various colleges. Some plan to enter the workforce. May God bless all of them.
