I have been busy the past few days. There are four Christmas trees decorated with two more to go. Janis and I decorated a tree at the VFW Post for the veterans and post visitors. It is not a big tree nor is it professionally decorated but we had fun.

Many area residents had wonderful Thanksgiving celebrations. Connie Francis had several visitors including her grandson Ethan, Alli Brown and daughter, Kaylee Sue from Tennessee. They were here for several years before returning home. Ethan is also my grandson. Kaylee is 3 months old; she was born Aug. 15. It was good to see them again.

Tis the season to help those in need. Being in organizations that help those less fortunate, people come out of the woodwork wanting to help others during the holidays. I appreciate them but remember we should be in the mood to give all year, not just during the holiday season.

Navasota City–Wide Mission provides an annual Thanksgiving dinner to anyone who comes by. The organization devotes their time, food, money, hands and love. I am always amazed by how much food is donated. Brenda and I had the pleasure of working again, alongside Brooklyn. While it makes an old lady tired, I enjoy meeting new people, seeing old friends and visiting with Pastor Wilbur who enjoys giving me a hard time.

Construction on Texas 105 began Dec. 2. The TxDOT will add turning lanes at selected intersections on Texas 105 between Texas 6 and CR 412. The project is expected to last around 18 months.

Keith Civic Club held their monthly meeting Nov. 21, at the Keith Community Center with 22 members and visitors present. The covered dish meal included a variety of Thanksgiving food and was enjoyed by all. A variety of business was discussed and acted on. The new floor that was recently installed was admired by all. It was put down to replace the carpet that has been there for many years.
