Read moreThe Evergreen Baptist Church fundraiser to help send children to summer camp was certainly successful. More than $10,000 was raised which will help them attend a variety of camps this summer. The fish was excellent, and the side dishes were good as well. There was a variety of items for the silent auction as well. Thanks to all that assisted both in donating items and those that purchased them as well. May God bless them all.

Brush, tree limbs and non-household trash will be collected. No tires or hazardous material. Free drop off will be available at the corner of Main Street and FM 1774 near the park. Read moreI am not sure why so many people are in such a hurry to reach their destination. It wouldn’t surprise me if that was the main reason for all the wrecks on Highway 105. Highway 6 is not much better. The safety lane for entry on Hwy. 6 from FM 2988 is supposed to assist with safe driving. On my way home one day, a person turned right onto 6 from 2988 but not in the safety lane, all the way to the left lane.
Read moreThe big news this week was the solar eclipse April 8. I was looking for it but never saw it. It was overcast so I didn’t see the noon cover the sun. I even had my glasses with. Oh well, that is how it goes. The next big one is supposed to happen in 20 years.
