The Anderson-Shiro Elementary Kindness Club is holding a winter clothing drive that began Dec. 1 and extends through Dec. 16. They are looking for new or gently used coats, scarves, socks and gloves.

Evergreen Baptist Church celebrated Thanksgiving at the church Sunday, Nov. 20. Guest speaker was Brother Mike Satterfield. He has a tremendous passion for God’s people, and a contagious spirit of generosity that flows through every facet of his ministry. His message was enjoyed by all present. Approximately 97 attended the service including several visitors. Following the service, a meal was served in the fellowship hall.

Brenda Storey and I helped for a few hours at the Progressive Center on the rainy Saturday we had last weekend. A group of people from Navasota City Mission organize, prepare, bake and donate a Thanksgiving meal each year. Anyone can come in and get two plates of food to either eat at the center or elsewhere. I am not for sure the exact amount of plates that were made, but it was well over 700.
