The monthly food pantry at Iola Missionary Baptist Church was well attended. Evergreen Baptist Church was in charge of providing volunteers and several of their members attended. There were 84 families served including six new families. The pantry is open the third Saturday each month from 9-11 a.m. to anyone in need of a helping hand. Volunteers come the day before to get everything ready.

Read moreIt has been somewhat of a quiet week, but I didn’t say it wasn’t busy. Recall on my car, oil change, inspection, tags and taxes all hit at one time. Then my little buddy is sick again and I know that happens when children are around other children. There are more forms of illness than when I was growing up. I missed all my school days in first grade, then had perfect attendance the remaining 11 years. Things sure have changed, and Clorox wipes were not even invented way back then.
