Read moreIola Missionary Baptist Church had a wonderful Vacation Bible School this year. Around 65children attended. Everyone had a wonderful time. There was a contest between the girls and boys to see who could raise the most money to help build a missionary cabin in the country of Georgia. The girls won the contest. A total of around $1,400 was raised. Thanks to all the children that made this possible.

Mrs. Betty was the president of the VFW Auxiliary when I started as an active member. She and Harriet Bellmeyer went to every meeting no matter where they were located. Dinner will be served at the Juneteenth Fairgrounds at 1 p.m. on FM 149 across from Anderson-Shiro High School. The cultural music festival and rodeo will be held at the Grimes County Fairgrounds and Expo Center.
