Read moreThere was an Independence Day celebration at the Iola Community Center, Friday, July 4, with good attendance. Hot dogs were served and there was a fireworks display. A good time was enjoyed by all. I remember many years ago when there used to be a celebration at the community center with Richard Coneley barbequing. There was also a celebration at Bubba Butts home on highway 30. Hopefully the celebrations will continue for many years.

Thanks to The Examiner, I was able to see photos posted on Facebook. It was exciting to see all the people supporting the event. Even Larry White, who let the crowd know I didn’t have my seatbelt on.
