I’ve been glued to my office chair working this week working on things for the VFW Auxiliary. It is now manageable chaos. Little Man was here one day recuperating from a virus and hurt foot. We enjoyed Paw Patrol, Spider Man and coloring. He is good now. I need a notebook to keep up with all the characters names. And we sprayed with the “fire” hose. That was not a fair game, I got soaked.
Read moreI’m beginning another year as president of the Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary. It is like any other volunteer job you may have or volunteer for. Mine includes shredding, changing year, planning for holidays, training, working on programs, attending meetings, agendas etc. I have papers, notebooks, copies and books scattered all over the house. And guess who calls to come over, the bug man. That is almost as bad as cleaning before the maid comes.

Read moreThere was a special service at Evergreen Baptist Church Sunday, Aug. 4. The children that attended summer camp were in service and spoke about their experience. There were 25 of them. Several of them dedicated their lives to the Lord and four made first time decisions to serve the Lord. Three of them are brothers – Josh, Jacob and Jace Sutphen. They have been Christians for a while and were baptized. May God bless them all.
