With a 3-1 vote, the Navasota Planning and Zoning Commission denied a replat request submitted by J&H Development and property owner Claire Taylor to replat three existing 10-acre lots into 14 single dwelling residential lots along Back Nine Lane in Pecan Lakes Estates Phase 2. According to the application, two of the 14 would remain as large acreage residential lots.

POINT BLANK — The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 190, near Point Blank, that occurred June 25. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 9:44 a.m., a 2008 Honda Pilot was traveling east, while a 2016 International truck tractor was traveling west.

The Young Eagles flight program presented by EAA allowed children to soar to new heights on June 18, at Navasota Municipal Airport. The free program, organized locally by father–son pilots Mike and Michael Dearing, introduces flying to children ages 8-17.

The contestants who advanced to compete at the Inspirational Country Music Association’s “The Sound of Small Town America” finals at the Texas Troubadour Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee returned to Navasota where the dream began. Contestants including Hannah Abraham, Chase Kimey and Michelle Kay performed at Navasota City Hall on June 18. Abraham won the youth division in the contest, Kimey won the adult division and Kay placed third.
