Grimes County celebrated freedom with Fourth of July festivities throughout the county. Navasota hosted their annual Freedom Festival July 4. Navasota Evening Lions Club installed a wheelchair ramp June 29, for Ashley Armatys of Anderson. She was injured in a car wreck and remains hospitalized. The wheelchair ramp will ensure a smooth return home once she is released from the hospital.

Joseph Miller competed in Cyber Security at the SkillsUSA National competition in Atlanta, Georgia June 28–19. Miller graduated from TSTC in Waco this year and is a 2021 Richards High School graduate.

Tyler Sierra was one of two Grimes County students that participated at the SkillsUSA National Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, June 28 and 29. Sierra, a 2024 graduate of Navasota High School competed in the cosmetology category.
