Officers were installed at the June 17, meeting of the Iola North Zulch Order of the Eastern Star No. 458 held at the Pyramid Masonic Lodge. All 18 officers were installed before a full house. The Worthy Matron is Roberta Pugh, and the Worthy Patron is Mike Cohen. Two members were initiated in the installation. They were David and Susan Rice. Prior to the meeting a meal with all sorts of good eats was enjoyed by all.

Read moreIola Cemetery Association will hold their annual meeting Saturday, June 24, at Zion Methodist Church beginning at 11 a.m. The Association maintains Zion and Enon Cemeteries in Iola. A variety of business will be handled. Anyone with family members buried in these cemeteries are invited to attend. Hope to see you there.

Grimes County 4-H is having a one-day camp July 8, at the Grimes County Extension office, 205 Veterans Memorial Drive in Navasota from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Camp is for ages 5-18 and is $10 per child.
