Volunteers are needed the day before around noon to help set up the pantry. Baccalaureate service for Iola High School students is Wednesday, May 24, at Cross Baptist Church beginning at 6 p.m. Many Iola churches will dismiss their service for this event. Graduation is Saturday, May 27, at 10 a.m. in the Iola High School Gym.

Read moreThe monthly meeting of Keith Civic Club was held at Keith Community Center April 27, with a fair number in attendance. The covered dish meal was enjoyed by all. A variety of business was discussed and acted upon. The main discussion was the garage sale that was hosted April 29. A good amount of money was raised. There are several inside jobs that need to be tended to. Thanks to all that bought items or assisted in any way.

Read moreThis week has flown by so quickly and I don’t have many notes of news to share. I know one thing, having a medical procedure for me can be a challenge for nurses. Friday was one of those days. It took four nurses and six sticks to get an IV in me. Almost a week later, I still have the proof! They finally found a vein at the very top of my arm, near my shoulder, closer to my armpit. I still have those markings too. I think I set a record for the hospital! Afterwards, the doctor told Kacie that I was good this time.
