In a Special Meeting Feb. 28, Grimes County commissioners removed language that was recently added to the original proposed legislation to allow the county to collect Hot Occupancy Tax (HOT). The language in question was added by State Representative Trey Wharton’s office and related to nonprofit tax-exempt organizations.
