At the May 1 Regular Meeting of the Grimes County Commissioner Court, three items impacting safety and quality of life in Grimes County were addressed. Solar farm road issues, proposed subdivision regulation changes and the CR 308 railroad crossing closure prompted record turnout of residents at regular meetings and public hearings and significant direct correspondence with commissioners.

This was the second of two public hearings to receive comments about reducing current minimum residential lot widths from 60-foot to 40-foot and current side setbacks to a 5-foot minimum. The proposed change was prompted by a request from History-Maker Homes who wants to offer 40-, 50- and 60-footwide lots in its development.
