Planning a large event can be exhausting but when everything goes good and people have fun, it is all worth it. We celebrated Mrs. Eleonore Feldmann’s 90th birthday Saturday at the White Hall Cotton Gin. It took several days to organize, but we made it. The venue was vacuumed, tables moved and set up, chairs cleaned and moved accordingly, food planned, decorations completed, and we were ready to party.

Msgr. Adam McClosky will celebrate Mass at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson Friday, May 24 at noon. He is celebrating his 57th anniversary as a priest. He was ordained at St. Stanislaus Kostka May 24, 1967 by Bishop John Morkovsky. Congratulations Fr. Adam. We are so proud of you. You have led many in their journey of faith.

Well folks, the area is still good and wet. The Navasota River is still high, but not as bad as it was a few days ago. Hopefully it will go down before long. Don and Susan Binch’s home flooded. They had to leave their home and go to the former home of Jon Proskine who passed away in 2023. I’m happy they had a place to go. They are currently still there.

We have certainly had a good amount of rain in Keith and all around the area the last few days. So far, 10 inches have fallen, and more is on the way. Several roads have closed. Iola ISD closed, and several schools started late.

I apologize, I had the incorrect date for Memorial Day in my article last week. The correct date is May 27. I should have remembered that date since my daughter, Kacie, and son-in-law, Butch, both have birthdays that day. And, if I remember correctly, my neighbor and friend Kathy Wells shares the same day.
