Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one! Although it’s been a long and hard year, it’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is upon us. These coming holidays won’t be the same for many. Lots of travelers will stay home this year— especially with the spike in COVID cases once again. Our big Hoffart/Herzog gathering won’t be the same. Everyone is kind of doing their own small family get-together rather than all the families coming together just to be on the safe side.

Darrell Hall neighborhood news: Grimes County Commissioner, Chad Mallett, said he received a response from the County Attorney. To create road districts, the roads in the district [each DH neighborhood located in Grimes County] must be a public road. Mallett said he and the County Attorney are still researching.

All the planning, gathering of fundraiser items, preparing the Post for the “big” day, making desserts and the hurry to hand make more books of tickets for the Veterans Day celebration is over. Now that the Auxiliary is on this side of the event, we see what went really good and what needs “tweaking” for next year. I am so lucky that my small group of members always come through.

A wedding ceremony for Mallory Compian and Robert Frenzel was held Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Annex Wedding and Event Venue in Navasota. Rev. Jeff Morgan officiated. This was the second service for the happy couple. The first service on July 18 had limited attendance due to coronavirus. Following the wedding there was a reception. Please remember this happy couple in your prayers.

The Knights of Columbus Council 4053 will hold a blood drive Sunday, Nov. 22 from 8:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. at the St. Stanislaus Parish Hall. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center continues to experience a critical shortage of blood due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, they are asking the KC’s to host another blood drive.
