The membership of Carlos Fellowship Church enjoyed a time of fellowship with a covered dish meal following their worship service Sunday, April 11. There was lots of good food including pecan pie and other desserts. The food and desserts were enjoyed by all present. The pecan pie was especially enjoyed since none was left.

No license or permit to carry a handgun in Texas? What do y’all think about that change of the law? Hopefully they keep the old law in place because we already have enough problems as it is. That surely will raise the violence, killing, etc. in The State. Everyone would be carrying, and the police will have a harder time protecting and serving. That means the mentally ill, foreigners coming in etc. will be able to carry. God forbid that law.

The White Hall Community Center will be celebrating their 5th Birthday Bash April 24. There will be barbecue chicken plates, live music and a car show. Members are selling tickets for the raffle that includes a $400 Visa card, one-night cabin stay and hog hunt for two people at 7D Ranch, $100 gift certificate from Baylor Lumber, wine and spirits basket, Igloo 60 Qt wheeled cooler filled with a variety of beers, five-foot Pre-Lit Dress Form Christmas Tree, vintage kingsized quilt, portable swing lounger/chair and a basket of home canned goodies. The Sunrise Service for area churches held at the Zion Cemetery in Iola Sunday, April 4, was well attended with 67 people attending. The speaker was Zion Methodist Church Pastor, Rev. Charles Ray. Another church member, Kathie Wendt, led the singing. Everyone had a wonderful time. Following the service breakfast tacos were served at Iola Missionary Baptist Church, provided by Evergreen Baptist Church.
