Upcoming events in the community include the monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club, which will take place at the Keith Community Center Thursday, Aug. 27. Caesar ‘Dutch’ Hohn, a German heritage bashful girl shy farm kid from around Yorktown, Texas, enrolled at Texas Agricultural & Mechanical College in the very early 1900s, shortly after the turn of the century. (It didn’t become the Texas A&M University for another half century in 1963).

The Sunday morning service on Aug. 9 was preached by Edward Costello, one of the church deacons, in absence of Rev. Jeff Morgan while he and his family were on vacation. Ed did a wonderful job. A very special person in the services was Hayes Lawrence Baker, born June 4.
