Read moreEach year the Polish American Council of Texas (PACT) holds their annual meeting at different locations throughout Texas to highlight Polish parishes and communities. Last year, the annual meeting was held in Bandera and in 2018 it was held in Chappell Hill. This year St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church (parish that was founded by Polish immigrants over 150 years ago) will host the PACT meeting in our town of Anderson on Saturday, Nov. 14. The opening ceremony will take place in front of the Grimes County Courthouse on Main St beginning at 9:30 am. and concluding around 10:30 am. Remarks will be made by Dr Jim Mazurkiewicz, President of the PACT, Grimes County Commissioner David Dobyanski, Anderson Mayor Karen McDuffie, Chairman of the Host Committee Mike Kurtin and other officials.

Read moreThe Sheffield family held their annual family reunion Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Keith Community Center with approximately 25 family members attending. They started arriving at 9 a.m. and stayed until 4 p.m. A good time was enjoyed by all present. There was lots of good food and fellowship. Hopefully they will come again.
