Bonnain spearheads dominant victory

GIDDINGS — Dylan Bonnain pitched a complete game shutout and homered in Navasota’s 5-0, thrashing of Giddings.

Senior Bonnain struck out seven Buffaloes, walked just three and allowed only three hits in an epic performance.

Kaleb Wisnoski and Cody Risner each had a hit in the win.

Navasota took timeout of their busy schedule Wednesday, March 27, to cheer on Cameron Martinez in the annual Special Olympics at Navasota High School. Martinez is a dedicated student trainer at Navasota and supports the team day in and day out, so the team wanted to return the favor on his big day. Martinez earned two gold medals.

Navasota hosted Caldwell Tuesday (results were not available at press time).

The Rattlers travel to LaGrange for a 7 p.m. game Friday, April 5, and for a 7 p.m. first pitch Tuesday, April 9, at Bell-ville.
