White Hall VFD 'Truck or Treat' Oct. 31
Friday night lights was fun. Somerville won the trophy defeating Snook in their rivalry game, 20-14, in overtime. Somerville supporters cheered their Yeguas to victory. I know my two grands, Bree and Bean, were exhausted. Bree is a cheerleader and Bean plays offense, defense and center for a special play which I understand is called “tank.” Bean’s coach told me afterwards that they won because I was there. Congratulations to the Yeguas. Homecoming is Friday so stay tuned.
White Hall Community VFD will host their “Truck or Treat” Tuesday, Oct. 31. There will be games, cupcake walk and food. It would be fun to have your children come and enjoy time with us. Bring your camera and take a photo by the fire truck. We will begin at 6 p.m.
Veterans Day, Nov. 11, will be celebrated with a parade, fundraiser drawings and a Reds, Wheats & Blues Festival. The Chamber of Commerce will have bands during this event at the VFW Post from 3-8 p.m. Tickets are $30 at the door and $25 for presale. More information visit the Navasota Chamber of Commerce website, www.navasotagrimeschamber. com TheVFWAuxiliary will soon be offering chances to purchase tickets for their fundraiser. Monies will be used to help veterans and their families. The donated prizes are good. Since we were unable to have our fundraiser last year, we would appreciate your help.
Nov. 18 is the official date to celebrate the 150-year anniversary of our little community, White Hall. The nomination has been made and Mrs. Eleanore Feldmann has been selected as our Queen. If you wish to help cover all the veterans in the Salem Cemetery, please let me know by Nov. 19, so I can collect the money and place the order.
