Rattler JV still unblemished
The undefeated season continues for Navasota junior varsity, as the Rattlers powered past Needville 29-16, Oct. 5, at Rattler Stadium.
Jaxson Bowman got the Rattler scoring going on a 75-yard catch and run from Jace Jablonski. Jablonski ran in the conversion.
Jablonski added to the Rattler lead with an 11-yard run. Grayson Munoz ran in the conversion. The Rattlers scored twice in the second half. Owen Otto hauled in a 10-yard pass from Jablonski in the third, and Jablonski scored on a 9-yard run in the fourth. The conversion failed on the first score, but Gio Perez booted in the kick on the second score.
“Offense executed and played very hard,” said Rattler JV Head Coach Grant Glendening. “Jace had a great game running and throwing the ball downfield. He hit multiple receivers throughout the game. We blocked well up front and were able to protect long enough for our quarterback to throw.”
Glendening said Robert Reed led the defense. “He set the edge, had an interception in the second quarter and just gave us a spark. The defense was flying around making plays to give us a chance to win the game.”
Players of the game include Jablonski, Reed, Andres Luna and Dre Chavez. Navasota plays at Iowa Colony Thursday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
