Defensive play sets up freshman win
The Rattler freshmen used a big second half to secure a 34-28 win over Needville at Rattler Stadium Oct. 5.
Kynnavion Chappel accounted for five of Navasota’s scores. He scored on first half runs of three and 35 yards. Hugo Garcia tacked on both extra points.
Chappel scored three times in the second half on runs of 95, 28, and a game-winning 23-yard run. The game-winning score was set up by a big fourth-quarter interception by Cash Fox.
Defensive standouts include Fox with three tackles and the huge interception, Eduardo Castaneda with eight tackles and Norman Rush with a pass break up. Offensive standouts include Isais Gomez and the entire offensive line.
