Brahmas charge past Lady Rattlers

The Bellville Brahmas scored first and strung together seven runs over the final three innings, defeating Navasota 10-3.

Navasota drops to 14-5 and 1-2 in the juggernaut that is District 26-4A.

Bellville outhit the Lady Rattlers 11-6 and Navasota committed five errors in the loss. Mia Nunez and Emily Ripkoski each had a multi-hit game with Nunez, going 2-3 with two runs scored and a walk. Ripkoski was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Samantha Harris and Brianna Weaver recorded the Rattlers other two hits each, going 1-3 and Weaver driving in a run.

Ripkoski took the loss on the mound, surrendering 11 hits but allowing only four earned runs, struck out three and walked only one.

Navasota returned to action Tuesday hosting Smithville (results were not available at press time). The Lady Rattlers will play at 6 p.m. Saturday at Giddings and at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, to host Caldwell.
