NISD monitoring COVID-19

After a conference call with local officials and the Grimes County Emergency Management team Friday, March 20, Navasota ISD made the decision to close all schools, facilities, all athletic games, practices and extracurricular events beginning March 16-22. Although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Navasota ISD or Grimes County, we are making this decision in an abundance of caution for our students, staff, and our community.

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, Grab and Go breakfast and lunches were made available at John C. Webb Elementary and High Point Elementary Cafeterias from 10 a.m. to noon each day, Tuesday through Friday. Drive through services will be available at the cafeteria side doors of each school listed above.

All Navasota ISD staff, as well as students and families are encouraged to follow recommended emergency management protocols by staying home, avoiding large events and crowds, as well as taking all precautions to help slow the spread of this virus.

We will continue to monitor the situation on a week by week basis and stay in contact with local emergency management authorities to bring you updates regarding our schools and community.
