Dear Publisher,

Navasota citizens and visitors: I would like to take this opportunity to invite you downtown if you have not stopped or dropped in lately.

Yes, there is new construction to aid with flooding issues, next will be a new parking lot and then to finish the streetscapes to Baylor Lumber to the west!

It’s a particularly exciting time for downtown and so you are aware, with the infrastructure work they will have to cross Washington Avenue at the Union Pacific rail track. The detour will be at LaSalle for those that are traveling west toward Brenham, BUT downtown is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

You can get to all the businesses and shops, park in front or back, and simply make a U-Turn on Washington Avenue back to the main intersection. This detour will be from March 23 through April 7 and contractors will be trying to complete sooner.
