Women Leadership Symposium Feb. 28
Celebrating a one-year anniversary, 2020 is off to a great start with a symposium on Women in Leadership Roles being hosted by the Progressive Women of Grimes County. This event will be held Feb. 28 at the Navasota Center from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
This program will feature three community leaders who took the step into community service. Grimes County’s own Commissioner Barbara Walker will join the stage with Laura Jones and Elizabeth Hernandez. This will be an opportunity to meet both women who are running for the chance to serve as representative from the Texas Eighth Congressional District.
The success of the Christmas Book Drive for Head Start marked the beginning of the Literacy Initiative by the PWGC. This year the $5 admission to the February event will go toward the 2020 Book Fair benefitting Head Start. The Book Fair will run March 23 through April 3. Supporting women to participate in leadership roles is a focus of the PWGC, but at the same time providing resources for all children, our emerging future leaders.
