The summer has gone by fast and school will start before you know it. Although the school summer break is ending, the hot temperatures aren’t ceasing anytime soon. Remember to stay hydrated and cool. Check on the elderly, sick and shut-in during these hot days.
Grimes County Chamber of Commerce is hosting an after-hours mixer at the Grimes County Veterans of Foreign War building, 1575 W. Washington Ave. in Navasota, Thursday, July 25, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

There will be a food safety workshop Friday, Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Grimes Annex Building in Navasota, 205 Veterans Memorial Dr. Lessons in kitchen safety and handwashing techniques are some of the areas that will be taught. St. Mary Catholic Church in Plantersville will celebrate its 125th Homecoming Bazaar Sunday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The church is located at 8227 CR 205.
