VFD barbecue sandwich sale Aug. 5
My surprise Friday was Bryanna Grace came by to see me. It has been a couple of weeks since I saw her, so she made my day. This was also the first time she drove by herself to White Hall. We discussed how she was going to get to her job in Brenham after she left here. Even though she has dark hair, she can act a bit blonde at times.
Saturday, I mowed and weedeated. There was a Brightspeed technician working on my internet and someone working on my septic system. I knew there was a problem but sometimes men do not take women seriously. I finally sent a picture of all the healthy weeds on my tanks that weedkiller didn’t work on and the weedeater wouldn’t cut. It was not pumping properly and leaking around the tanks. I told my son-in-law the weeds grew so tall because of the fertilizer. He had no response because I was right.
There have been numerous complaints on Facebook regarding our Brightspeed service, plus messages from neighbors. It is crazy and difficult when the internet is down. They sent me a new modem, but it was delivered to someone other than me. I found it though.
There were several meetings this week for me, but the Sonshine Sisters made my day. I think we all left with sore jaws from laughing as we played dominoes. We missed Aunt Pauline.
Union Grove Baptist Church celebrated the addition of two new staff members in July. Darrell Stratton was accepted as a new affiliate pastor. He is an ordained Baptist minister and was a medical missionary in Guatemala for several decades where he met and married his wife,Azucena.
Claude Douglas (Doug) McMullen was also ordained as the newest deacon for UGBC. Doug is a cousin and longtime close friend of Senior Pastor Faber McMullen. Doug and his wife Sonja lead the couples’ Sunday School Class on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am.
Bib Kapchinski asked that I thank everyone for all the prayers and thoughts because is doing much better. I heard that she even drove from the Dallas area, but I promise to not fuss at her.
There are several churches in the White Hall Community. Feel free to visit any of them as they all welcome visitors.
