Navasota’s Scout Troop 361 participated in Veterans Day activities beginning by marching in Navasota’s Veterans Day Parade Saturday, Nov. 14. Members included Scout Master Benjamin Mendez, Assistant Scout Master Patrick Price, Christopher Price as part of his Eagle Scout Project, Aaron Mendez, Matthew Lamb, Matthew Armatys and Reagan Kirby. After the parade, they held a flag retirement ceremony.

Grace Mendez, competed in the Texas Karate Organization State Karate Championships Saturday, Nov. 14. The TKO State Tournament is a yearlong process in which a competitor earns an invitation by competing in various regional tournaments and earning points by winning in those tournaments. Mendez competed in two events at the State Championships, Traditional Forms and Creative Weapons, winning a Championship Ring in both events. Mendez participates in the KickStart Kids program at Navasota Junior High and is a member of the Martial Arts America - Navasota Competition Team.

Navasota Realty, a fixture in Grimes County communities for more than 20 years, made a move this week to be more accessible than ever with their new location at 303 E. Washington in Navasota. Representatives from the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce, the city of Navasota and many supporters were present for a ribbon cutting ceremony and lunch. Owner and Real Estate Broker Nancy Perry described to the group the satisfaction she’s experienced operating her business in Navasota, and about the wonderful friends she’s made along the way.
