Anderson–Shiro FFA sent seven teams to compete at the State FFA CDE contest. Studentscompeted against schools of all sizes earning hardware in three of the contests. They fared well in the others. as well.

Navasota Kickstart Kids competed at the 2024 Kickstart Kids State Championships at Ranchview High School in Irving. There were over 600 competitors representing 59 schools from across the state. Students qualified for the event by winning a regional qualifier and placing in the top–3 at the regional championship. Navasota earned five state championships, and five bronze medals.

Read moreKurtis Landry and Taryn Savage, both of Iola, were honored by Angelo State University in San Angelo. Landry graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. Savage earned a spot on the San Angelo Dean’s List for the spring semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a minimum of a 3.25 GPA. She is majoring in communications.

Read moreGrimes County Retired School Personnel Association made their final delivery stop at Brule Elementary in Navasota for their annual children’s book project. The mission is to give books to each child in Pre-K classes throughout Grimes County. Books were purchased with donations.This year each child received two books. Many Grimes County Pre-K students don’t own books. Books are carefully screened before distribution. Donations to the annual GCRSPA Children’s Book Project are welcome.
