Read moreKnights of Columbus Anderson Council 4054 is planning a Spring Festival at KC Hall Sunday, May 5. A chicken and sausage dinner will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. Plates are $15 and include a garden salad, potato salad, baked beans, drink and dessert. The live auction begins at 1 p.m. There will also be a silent auction, music, games and a children’s zone with plenty of activities.

Read moreAround 79 people attended the food pantry at the Iola Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Saturday, April 20. The food distributed will feed around 252 people. There was all sort of good things offered including meat, vegetables, canned goods, milk, eggs, cheese and more. The pantry is open the third Saturday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. The food is available for everyone. The pantry needs volunteers the day of and the day before around noon for setup. This time members of Enon Missionary Baptist Church and Iola Church of Christ volunteered. May God bless them all.

Read moreThe Evergreen Baptist Church fundraiser to help send children to summer camp was certainly successful. More than $10,000 was raised which will help them attend a variety of camps this summer. The fish was excellent, and the side dishes were good as well. There was a variety of items for the silent auction as well. Thanks to all that assisted both in donating items and those that purchased them as well. May God bless them all.
