Plantersville man killed in crash
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a one-vehicle fatality crash on Texas State Highway 105 East Sunday, Aug. 15, in Navasota.
DPS Sgt. Justin Ruiz said at approximately 9:20 a.m. Troopers were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Ruiz said a passing motorist discovered the vehicle and called it in. It is believed the accident occurred 10-12 hours before the vehicle was discovered.
A 1997 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling eastbound on SH 105 when the vehicle left the roadway into the ditch and rolled into a dry creek.
The driver of the vehicle, Jervis Muwwakki, 84, of Plantersville was pronounced deceased on scene by Grimes County Justice of the Peace Mark Laughlin.
Laughlin stated he is unsure what caused the accident, but it is believed medical issues may have been a contributing factor.
Sgt. Ruiz stated the accident remains under investigation.
