Farewell
It is with mixed emotions that I write this column. Father Time is catching up to me and doing things that I used to do are exceeding my abilities. In other words,” I ain’t what I used to be.” So, this will be my last column. I hope that someone got some help by reading my column, if not for the information, then surely for a laugh! Many of you have told me that you enjoyed my columns and for that I can only say thanks.
In closing all this out, I want to invite you to tune in to the local radio station, Willy 1550 and 98.7 for a radio program called “Vets Voice.” My friend, Hal Reed, along with host Kenny Graves and myself discuss veterans’ issues on the show, much like my column. Hal is the informed one and for once in my life, I stay pretty quiet.
I know that the station is difficult to pick up in certain areas, but you can always go to their website navasotanews.com where you will see a little red button that says listen live. When you click on that, well, sure nuff you can listen to their great country music and some very interesting and informative programs, including ours. We are on from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. every other Tuesday and we are sponsored by a very veteran friendly business by the name of Whiskey Tango Bar & Grill.
With that, I’ll close by saying to our veterans out there – THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE and to their families – THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
May God bless Texas and the good old USA! Farewell.
