Spring Fling March 12

The Richards Civic Club sure is looking nice. Hats off to all the individuals and members of the civic club. They have worked so hard and have done an outstanding job on the building and the cleanup. It shines like new!

Be sure and stop by the Civic Club Thursday March 12, from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. for the “Spring Fling!” Children ages 7-14 are welcome. Children under seven must be accompanied by an adult. All parents are welcome! During this time there will be lunch, movies, snacks, and video games. Come by for a fun time!

The Richards Panthers are out for spring break March 9-13. Students look forward to a break and to spring. Have a fun and safe Spring break!

Richards One Act Play presents “The Tell-Tale Heart” Friday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and there will be dessert and an auction. Come out and support the Panthers.

Montgomery County Pct. 1 Commissioner Mike Meadows “2020 Annual Heavy Trash Weekend” will be held Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, from 7:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. each day. Dumpster location will be at the Longstreet Community Center, 20240 Bays Chapel Road in Richards. This is a really good service that this commissioner does for the community of Richards. The service helps residents that live in Montgomery County. This is for residential clean up not commercial. Material that will not be accepted are oil base paint, paint cans with no labels, dry paint in cans and leaking paint cans. Items that will not be accepted are household trash, appliances with Freon, electronics, hazardous waste, fire extinguishers, cylinder/tanks of any kind, barrels or drums, oil or antifreeze. A big shout out and thank you to this commissioner who works so hard every year to help the people in Montgomery County.

Deepest sympathy to the family of Ed Kerl who was a longtime Richards resident. Ed was born in Richards July 1, 1945 and attended Richards ISD. A service was held Sat. March 7. Please remember his family and friends in your prayers.

Sunday, March 8, friends and family turned out to Union Grove Baptist Church as the ladies, honored someone very special with a wedding shower. The Newlyweds, Tiffany Taliaferro Antwine and Anthony Antwine joined together with many friends and family for the most beautiful wedding shower. This lovely couple were celebrating their recent marriage. It was a fun time for all and the food and refreshments were amazing!

With a heavy heart I would like to express my sympathy to the family and friends of Virginia Ann Brewton French. Virginia was a very beautiful lady and a good friend to me and to many. Virginia French 75, of Navasota passed away at her home on Friday. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers.

We sure have had some beautiful days this week! Every time you get a chance to get outside, be sure and do so. Go enjoy this weather. It is so refreshing! Happy Spring Break!
