Monuments leveled in Martin’s Prairie Cemetery

There was a special ceremony at Evergreen Baptist Church Sunday, Jan. 5 in which three men were ordained deacons of the Church. They are James Ray Trant, Tim Carson, and Ed Costello. The service took place at 4 p.m. and was conducted by the church’s pastor, Rev. Jeff Morgan. All had family members present. Following the service cookies and punch was served in the church’s fellowship hall. May God bless each of them.

Bill Beeler 1915-1988; Annie Mae Beeler 1914-1994; John H. Daniel 1858-1939; Johnny Daniel 1902-1904; Laura Daniel 1904-1904; Lester G. Several area residents attended the monthly meeting of the Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge No. 17 Monday, Jan. 6 with several members in attendance. The covered dish meal was enjoyed by all in attendance. During the meeting the Lodges secretary, David Moore, was presented with a hand carved stone plaque in honor of his years of service to the lodge. A variety of business was discussed and acted upon.
The following day the Bedias Masonic Lodge No. 651 held their monthly meeting. Once again, the covered dish meal and the business meeting was enjoyed by those present. There was a variety of business discussed and acted upon. Several thank you cards for the fruit baskets were read. There were around 87 such baskets delivered.
