“Make America kind again”

It was a historic day for William Charles “Charlie” McMillian as he was inaugurated Sunday, Dec. 15, as the Mayor of Whitehall making him the youngest mayor in the United States.

Charlie was named honorary mayor in October as part of the Whitehall Community Volunteer Fire Department barbecue fundraiser in which the role of honorary mayor is auctioned. Charlie won the high bid receiving the honor of honorary mayor.

His inauguration was a party enjoyed by many and the young mayor even had his own security detail. Charlie was adopted by Chad and Nancy McMillian. According to dad, Mayor Charlie’s motto is “Make America Kind Again.” Charlie loves folks from all political leanings; Republican, Democrat and Independent. Regardless of anyone’s background, he loves them, and we hope he can be a unifier in our country,” said Chad.

Next month Mayor Charlie is scheduled to meet with a local congressman and Senator Ted Cruz in Washington, D.C.
