One killed in pedestrian versus vehicle accident

Navasota Police are investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Texas 90 that claimed the life of one person Tuesday night, March 25.

A 911 call was received around 9:50 p.m. about the pedestrian being struck. Navasota Police Officers responded to the 8700 block of Texas 90 and located the male in a ditch on the westbound side of the highway. Officers immediately began CPR.

Navasota Fire Department and medics arrived shortly after and continued life-saving measures. 

According to the female driver, she was traveling west on Texas 90 when she struck the pedestrian. 

Justice of the Peace, Mark Laughlin, declared the male deceased around 10:30 p.m.

The name of the victim is being withheld until next of kin is notified. Officers are continuing to investigate the scene.
