Marie Alice Floyd Tomkivits, 68, of Plantersville, died Sunday morning, September 29, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Wednesday, October 2, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A celebration of Marie’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Heaton officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith-Floyd Cemetery in Plantersville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Landon Rabun, Caleb Rabun, Nathan Harwell, Travis Tomkivits, Austin Derrett and Sloan Sechelski.

Marie was born April 10, 1951 to Ralph M. and Genevieve T. Phillips Floyd. A lifelong resident of Grimes County, Marie was a retired home health care provider for over 34 years. She enjoyed anything to do with crafts as well as working in her yard and tending to her many flower beds and she was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Sylvester “Lester” Tomkivits.

Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Rabun and husband Scott, Stephanie Lowry and husband Mark, Terry Harwell and husband Chris and Leslie Tomkivits, all of Plantersville; sisters, Shirley Godrey and husband Danny of Arkansas and Carolyn Kolbasinski of Planters-ville; grandchildren, Landon Rabun, Caleb Rabun and wife Miale, Caitlan Rabun, Heston and Riley Lowry, Nathan Harwell, Travis Tomkivits and wife Brianna; great granddaughters, Naomi Tomkivits and Poppy Rabun (on the way), along with number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and great number of friends.
