Mrs. Pearl Busa, 96, of Anderson, passed away Saturday, August 3, at Navasota Nursing and Rehabilitation. Visitation with family and friends will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson on Wednesday, August 7, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a parish rosary following at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 8, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with Rev. Eli Lopez as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Busa was born June 4, 1923 in Navasota to Joseph and Willie (Warcheski) Vezurk. She attended and graduated from Anderson High School and married David Busa. The couple had one daughter, Betty.

Pearl owned and operated the Trail Riders Cafe in downtown Anderson for years until retiring and closing the restaurant in the mid 90’s. Besides being a phenomenal cook, Pearl loved working in her yard, mowing grass, tending her vegetable garden and just being outside. She was a gifted quilter as well. In later years, Pearl could be found sitting on her front porch working on word puzzles and games. She was a long-time member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Pearl is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Antone (Tony) Pavlock and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Boehm, Brandon Borski, Matt Borski, Gary Vezurk, Roger Vezurk and Karl Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David Busa and brother Steve Vezurk.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Luke Scamardo, the staff and Navasota Nursing and Rehab and Traditions Healthcare and Hospice for their love, care and compassion. Also, Father Eli Lopez and the Eucharistic Ministers of Christ Our Light and St. Stanislaus Catholic Churches for their visits.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made in Pearl’s memory to Traditions Hospice, 4030 State Highway 6, Suite 200, College Station, Texas 77845. You are invited to leave kind words and fond memories at www.noblesfuneral.com.
