GRACE MARTINEZ

Grace Hernandez Martinez, 77, of Navasota, died Monday morning, July 1, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A gathering of family and friends was held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 9677 Hwy 6, in Navasota. A parish rosary followed at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebrating Grace’s life will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rev. Elias Lopez as the celebrant. Cremation will follow.

Grace was born Tuesday, September 30, 1941 in San Antonio to Frank M. and Helen Cuellar Hernandez. A housewife and loving mother, Grace enjoyed knitting, traveling, flowers and plants and was dedicated to praying the rosary daily. Her true love in life was spending time with family especially with her 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Jose L. Martinez of Navasota; 5 sons, Richard DeHoyos and wife Alma, Roland Pineda and wife Carol, Javier Martinez and wife Susie, all of San Antonio, Michael Martinez and wife JoAnna of Navasota and Jose Martinez, Jr. of Dallas; 6 daughters, Dolores Chavarria, Belinda Garcia and husband Manuel, Jr., Diane Rodriguez and husband Michael, all of San Antonio, Barbara Falcon and husband Charles, Alma Dominguez and husband Jason, both of Navasota and Cathie Matsubura and husband Gary of California; 4 brothers and 7 sisters; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
