AUDRY “SUE” RICE 1939 – 2024

Audry “Sue” Rice, 84, of Iola, Texas, was born July 19, 1939, in Grimes County and passed away May 26, 2024, in Bryan, Texas.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Iola Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Owens officiating. Burial followed in the Lake Grove Cemetery in Iola, Texas.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Effie Yargo; her brother, Louis Gene Yargo; and her son, Kirk Gregory Rice.

She is survived by her siblings, Betty Harmon (Glen) and Debbie Yargo; her children, Shelly Koether (John) and Gina Wesley (George); her grandchildren, Josh Elliott (Saundra), Kacey Bourke (Rocky), Brandy Scott, Bryan Scott, Kirby Rice (Chad), and Kimberly Scott; her great-grandchildren, Kelsey Trogden (Eric), Danaya Vrana, Coy Elliott, Tyler Elliott, Barrett Bourke, Brynn Bourke, Landen Scott, Robbie Elizondo and Savannah Matejcik; as well as her great-great-grandson, Jackson Trogden, & great-great-granddaughter, Saylor Fowler. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers were Nick Harmon, Josh Elliott, Tyler Elliott, Tyler Fletcher, Rocky Bourke, Chad Matejcik.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
