Veterans Day Parade Nov. 11
Only a couple more Friday Night Lights for this Gingi. Both teams lost last week but there is only one winner. My Bree wasn’t selected as homecoming queen, but she was okay. Her dad was so proud of her as he walked her on the field for the announcement. She was stunning.
White Hall Community VFD will host their “Truck or Treat” Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. There will be games, cupcake walk and food. It would be fun to have your children come and enjoy time with us. Bring your camera and take a photo by the fire truck.
Veterans Day is Nov. 11. We will be celebrated with a parade, fundraiser drawings and a Reds, Wheats and Blues Festival. The Chamber of Commerce will be having bands during this event at the VFW Post from 3-8 p.m. Tickets are $30 at the door and $25 for presale. More information is on the Navasota Chamber of Commerce website, www. navasotagrimeschamber.com.
Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary is selling tickets for their fundraiser. Cost is $2 each or $5 for three. Proceeds will be used to help veterans and their families. We try to help our county veterans in need. We will accept checks and cash. The donated prizes are good. Since we were unable to have our fundraiser last year, we would appreciate your help. Prizes will be drawn at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at The Post.
Nov. 18 is the official date to celebrate the 150-year anniversary of our little community, White Hall. The nomination has been made and Mrs. Eleanore Feldmann has been selected as our Queen. Please contact former residents and current residents to come and celebrate this special occasion. There are plans for bands, food, bounce house and other activities. We hope to see many people present to celebrate Mrs. Eleanore. She has been the resident and history point of the community her entire life. Admission to the event is free, however food will be sold. If you are interested in assisting in any way, please feel free to contact me.
The Courtney-White Hall 4-H plan on having their fall bake sale Nov. 18, as well. This is just in time for Thanksgiving. They will take pre-orders. Contact Kaitlin Mikulin, 936-870-5242 or Linda Robbins, 979-219-0579 for your special requests. All their goods are donation only.
Wreaths Across America is Dec. 16. We will place wreaths on the graves of veterans. The Ladies Circle of Salem Lutheran Church voted to assist with this event again. The price this year is $17. If you wish to help cover all the veterans in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery, please let me know by Nov. 19, so I can collect the money and place the order. If you wish to purchase a wreath for your own veteran who is not resting at Salem, call me.
Please add our sick and homebound friends to your prayer list.
