'State of the City' expected to address growth, more
Navasota Mayor Bert Miller is the featured speaker at the upcoming State of the City meeting on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Navasota Center. Co-hosted each year by the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce and the Navasota Examiner newspaper, this year's State of the City meeting is expected to review the growth and opportunities that Grimes County is experiencing, both on a regional and local level. The event begins with check-in and coffee at 9:30 a.m. and the program beginning at 10:00 a.m.
A new face at this year's meeting is Aaron Farmer of the Retail Coach, who has worked closely with the City of Navasota for several years as a consultant and business recruiter. Farmer's presentation will talk about the state of Navasota's retail market, examine current trends he is seeing on local retail demand and also speak to the regional draw that Navasota is experiencing.
Also presenting will be Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth and Navasota ISD School Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick.
Seats to the free event must be reserved and includes lunch. General admission is not reserved and begins at 12:00 p.m. for anyone wishing to hear only the Mayor’s speech. The State of the City meeting is chiefly underwritten by Republic Services.
