Normangee- The Panthers battled after giving up an early lead but gave up the lead for good on the final play of the first half. Norman-gee quarterback Mason Hardy finished 13-17 passing for 151 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 80 yards on 14 carries.
Iola: The Bulldogs overcame adversity to notch the first win for head coach Kerry Bamburg with a 20-13 victory over Somerville. Io-la quarterback Blake Driver led Iola offensively with 6-9 passing for 143 yards and 1 touchdown. He also rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Adam Crenshaw hauled in 5 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Key Matchup: Iola will need to have a more efficient game securing the football on offense and tackling better on defense. Normangee has speed and playmakers on both sides of the ball and Bamburg said this game will be won in the preparation and practice this week. “We have to have a good week in preparing and practicing and need to improve our performance from last week,” said Bamburg.
