Lady Rattlers awaiting playoff details
Navasota finishes District 25-4A play in first place alongside the Royal Lady Falcons, who were scheduled to play Sealy Tuesday for their final game of district.
A win by Royal will likely force a matchup between the Lady Rattlers and Lady Falcons vying for the No. 1 seed in district.
No. 17 Navasota (31-4, 11-1) picked up a 52-21 road-win at Sealy and 53-24 win over Bellville on Lady Rattler senior night. Navasota had multiple girls contribute to the win over Bellville led by three double-digit scorers. Nala Richardson sank 12 points, followed by Bryanna Stokes with 11 points and six assists, then Rihanna Rush with 11 points. Kylie Steptoe grabbed 11 rebounds.
Against Bellville, Navasota was led by Stokes with 10 points. Richardson and Daviah Byrd had five steals each. The Junior varsity girls defeated Bellville 34-20 to finish as 25-4A District Champions with a 22-4 record overall and 11-0 in district.
Navasota will face the third or fourth seed team from District 26-4A in the Region 4 Bi-District round of the playoffs. That information will be posted on The Examiner website once available.
