Four Lady Rattlers make All-District
When Navasota volleyball coach Susan Foy accepted the position, she knew this was going to be a rebuilding season for the Lady Rattler volleyball program.
The team missed the playoffs finishing 12-26 on the season and 1-9 in a stacked District 26-4A. “This was a building year for our young volleyball team,” explained Foy. “Our record doesn’t reflect the amount of growth I saw in them throughout the season.”
That growth didn’t go unnoticed as four Lady Rattlers made 26-4A All-District Teams. Making the 26-4A Honorable Mention All-District were a pair of sophomores Emily Ladd and Porsche Jones and freshman Kylie Max-son. Ladd and Maxson also made the District 26-4A Academic All-District. Joining them on the Academic All-District team is sophomore Graceanna Linder.
“What we lack in experience we make up for in work ethic and heart,” stated Foy. “We’re only going to get better as we get more experience under our belt. I’m looking forward to what this team is going to bring over the next few years. Navasota has never won a Bi-District playoff game in the history of the program and we’re looking forward to changing that.”
Navasota will begin its 2020 campaign hosting Stafford Aug. 11.
