Margaret Ann Szymczak Hoffart, 81, of North Houston, died Friday morning, April 19, 2019, at Sycamore Creek Ranch Memory Care in Spring.

A gathering of family and friends took place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson. A parish rosary lead by Tommy Szymczak followed at 7:00 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Edward C. Kucera Jr. and Rev. Msgr. Adam S. McClosky as the celebrants. The rite of committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Wischnewsky, Mark Wischnewsky, Phillip Hoffart, Glenn Hoffart, Pat Szymczak and Clifford Szymczak.

Margaret was born December 23, 1937 in Anderson to Frank Ed. And Cecilia Katherine Walkoviak Szymczak. She graduated from Richards High School on September 7, 1957 and at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church she married Christopher John Hoffart. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to North Houston and Margaret began a long career in the banking industry. She began working at First City National Bank and later moved to Chase Bank from which she retired after 20 years of service.

Over the years Margaret had been a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Prince of Peace Catholic Church and St. Edward Catholic Church. Although away from the parish, she always maintained her membership at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson.

Margaret enjoyed cooking as well as holiday decorating but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Upon retirement she volunteered for many years at Houston Northwest Medical Center.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James Szymczak and Rev. Joseph Szymczak, sisters Theresa Szymczak, Florence Ogrodowicz and Marcella Reaves.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years Chris Hoffart; her three daughters Cindy Rudy and husband Clark of Temple, Sandra Nusser and huband Jim of Spring and Rhonda Day and husband Scott of Temple; a brother Clifford (Tommy) Szymczak; seven grandchildren Morgan Rudy of Dallas, Brandon Rudy of College Station, Justin Nusser and wife Holly and Jackson Nusser, both of Dallas, Chris Day and Abby Day of Houston and Emma Day of Temple, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
